Dehua Jade Teacup #2
Hailing from Dehua, a porcelain epicenter, in Southern Fujian province, this exquisite 羊脂白玉 yáng zhī báiyù (lit. "sheep tallow white jade") is an exceptional example of Mutton Fat Jade porcelain. Highly purified clay kiln-fired at high temperatures gives these wares an etheric and translucent glow. This new "ice type" has been developed in recent years and is especially thin, lightweight, and resolves the notorious finger-burning heat retention issue of other varieties.
This teacup's volume is 70 ml.
